Intro

The Catalunya motogp is the most stylish round on the race calendar. The spectacular Montmelo circuit, situated in the hills outside Barcelona, is the most modern track in Europe. Its spectator facilities are amazing. Its grandstands offer superb views and giant TV screens keep you up to date with all the race action. You can walk around the entire circuit including the fantastic F1 village and all merchandising areas.

Hotel

3 star Hotel in Platja d'Aro - Catalunya

Located just on the outskirts of the stylish town of Platja d'Aro. This fabulous hotel situated on the cliff tops of the Catalunya wild coast overlooks a private beach cove surrounded by pine trees, with stunning views across the navy blue Mediterranean sea. All our rooms are with Sea View and Balcony

The town of Platja d'Aro is very popular with wealthy Barcelonans, many who have purchased weekend properties. Over the weekend the town has a real vibe to it. Get yourself a table at one of the many boulevard restaurants and enjoy the fabulous free street scenes.

For those who like shopping, you will pleased to know that Platja d'Aro is famed for its shops. Probably the finest collection of stylish and chic shops outside of Barcelona.

Hotel Spa
The hotel has recently opened a wonderful Spa and beauty treatment facility. Treatments are chargeable.
 

Race tickets

A ticket with many advantages! With the purchase of your ticket, you will enjoy several advantages to fully enjoy the Grand Prix:
- On Friday you may access any grandstand with a general admission ticket.
- During the three days of the GP, you can walk around all public areas through the asphalted paths that connect the different areas inside the Circuit.
- You will be able to follow the whole race without missing a single detail from any place thanks to the giant screens strategically located around the Circuit.

Ticket choice

Our included ticket Pelouse (General Admission)

During the Grand Prix you are able to go around the entire Circuit as all areas are connected. Enjoy all the activities in the commercial area behind the the main grandstand. Altogether there are eight general admission areas spread through the circuit, all with fabulous track views and giant TV screens. Catering facilities are situated close to all Pelouse areas. On a practical note you are never far from excellent WC facilities.

Our recommend upgrades

Tribuna H Located at the exit of the Europcar turn, it offers an unbeatable view of the stadium. You can also see the Turisme de Catalunya turn before getting to the finish line. This is where the epic battles take place. Remember Casey and Valentino in 2007 then Jorge and Vale in 2009. This is the place to be!!
H ticket holders can fully explore the circuit and also watch the action from the Pelouse (General Admission areas).

Main Grandstand The Main Grandstand is located in front of the pit garages offering an excellent view of the starting grid, the finish and the podium

MotoGP Fiesta

If this is your first Spanish motogp you will blown away by the unique fiesta atmosphere. Join the 140,000 fans cheering for their favourite riders and if there should be a Spanish victory, stand by for wild celebrations and huge fireworks displays.

Welcome Party

The Welcome Reception has become an essential part of MotoExpress race weekend. An opportunity to meet your fellow. Talk about the exciting weekend ahead whilst enjoying complementary drinks and snacks; and I promise to keep my welcome talk to an absolute minimum!!!

Extra Days

Your hotel in Platja d'Aro is situated on the exclusive Catalunya wild coast.  This is area where the wealthy Barcelonians have their weekend properties. The city Barcelona is within easy reach by bus or car. Nearby are the beautiful fishing villages of Palamos and St Feliu de Guixols. So take advantage of our special MotoExpress extra night rates and transform your MotoGP weekend into a wonderful Catalan holiday.
 

Getting there

For this event you should book flights to Girona airport.
The cost of the flights are not included in the event price.
We do not recommend the booking of flights to Barcelona International (El Prat) airport. As you will be faced with a 60 mile journey to reach our hotels.

Airport transfers

Transfers from Girona airport to the hotel should cost around Euro 55 per taxi per way. Taxis can be found outside the arrivals hall. The journey to the hotel should take around 20 minutes.

Ride or drive to the event

Catalunya is home to the best roads in Europe and the journey from the UK can be a great adventure.
The hotel has private parking and over the years many have discovered the joy of riding through France and over the Pyrenees mountains.

thanks for that well either way a huge cheers to you guys as I had a ball and would and will recommend you guy to my fellow moto gp nuts. Yep you mentioned the people that made it fun that's the whole deal about travelling the people you meet thats why I am so keen to come back to the UK and Europe and I will, so weather it be a good thing or not u haven’t seen the last of me hahaha.

Once again, we would like to shout out a HUGE THANK YOU for another wonderful MotoGP event. As always -- well organized and a great group of people. We always know we will have a great time with MotoExpress and Catalunya did not disappoint.

We have attached our photo of our autograph with Dani. We think he's showing a pretty good smile :-)!

After Platja D'aro, we headed north. Visited Figueres, Roses, Girona, Cadaques, El Port de la Selva (thanks for the tip John!), had a wonderful 2.5 hour lunch looking over the bridge in Besalu... so relaxing. A great compliment to our time in Barcelona.
